Safe families are strong families
Being a parent can be hard. Young kids cry, test limits or have big feelings. When you feel tired or upset, it can be tough to stay calm.
If this happens, make sure your child is in a safe place, like a crib or play area, and take a short break. While they are safe, you can:
- Listen to music
- Call a friend or family member for support
- Practice deep breathing
Check back after 10 minutes. Pick up or talk to your child once you feel calm again.
