Ready, set, quit!

If you have tried to quit smoking, you know how hard it is. You're not alone. Many people who have quit tried several times before succeeding.

Quitting can help you be healthier and live longer.

Here are some tips:

Make a plan. Write down why you want to quit. Choose a quit day. Make a list of things to do when you crave nicotine.

Talk to your doctor. They can offer tips, resources and treatment options.

Find support. Call a quit line. Talk to a family member or friend. Join a support group.

Try medications. They can ease your nicotine cravings. Ask your doctor about these medicines.

Finally, be kind to yourself. Learn from the process and keep trying to quit.
