Interpreting services for 24/7 Nurse Advice Line

KFHC members can call the Nurse Advice Line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The service is free and helps you get answers to your health questions. Nurses can speak to you in your preferred language at no cost.

The line is for nonemergency advice. The nurse can help you decide if you should see a doctor, go to urgent care, or get emergency care. Call 1.661.632.1590 (in Bakersfield) or 1.800.391.2000 (outside of Bakersfield) (TTY: 711).

You can ask for an interpreter to help you:

  • Explain your symptoms
  • Understand the nurse

During the call the interpreter will:

  • Be your voice
  • Not give any medical advice

You might also notice short pauses as the interpreter is in the process of relaying your message to the nurse. This helps make sure your message is delivered accurately. Use your free service to help you understand your care.
